It's been quite a long time since I updated my blogger account, but finally today I took the time to do it. And, I vow to update it regularly from now on!
In other news not only is my blog up to date.... but I now have an official website to display my art work and advertise myself! Yay! I ended up using a website builder through Wix.com. Eventually I will be buying my own domain name so the website wont have wix.com attached to it and it will become www.JessicaNunno.com. The next step after that will be to get new business cards and buy advertising time as well as plan to do a convention by the summer. It will take time and planning but I am determined to get things even more moving this year and have my first sale on a print and a real commission.

For 5 months I worked on this piece off and on. This piece is literally the most complicated pointillism piece I have ever done. Its original size is 6x12 inches on Stonehenge Paper. And it is very much a mixed media piece even though I consider it to be a pointillism piece. Every part from the sky to the tree's to the figure (which my fiance modeled for) I stippled. But, to add more depth to the sky I used the toothbrush effect with an acrylic ink and added stars then washed in the glare on the windshield. Then to add more depth to the trees I added a transparent layer of gray using Copic Sketch Markers in gray. And, finally for both the 3 Comets in the back I used Acrylic Paint. So after many months of torture and experimentation to get each part right this piece got finished.
The idea behind "Oblivion" (what I call the piece for short, since it was been with me for half a year) is a man who climbed on the top of his car to watch the heavens above in their beautiful splendor "rain" destruction down upon the earth. This piece is my dedication to the Album 30 Seconds to Mars by 30 Seconds to Mars.

Three years ago I stippled a piece in black and white for my Grandmother for Christmas. I asked her what her most favorite thing in the whole world was and he answer was Baby's Feet. This year I asked her what she wanted me to draw her for Christmas and she answered she wanted Baby's Hands, to go with the Baby's feet. This is what I drew her.

A christmas card I was commissioned to draw for newspaper carries on the Connecticut Post. Their paper route ran up in the back areas of Fairfield, CT. The sunday after the Thanksgiving of 2010: 325 of these were printed and added in with their sunday newspaper.
These piece shows a Reindeer holding a bow tied piece of mistletoe in his mouth. He wants a little kiss for the holidays >.<'

In this pice I was practicing with mixing media and layering. The first layer is a solid layer of marker. Then the texture/ detail on the Goldfish, the water and the bubbles is done with my usual pointilist style. And, the highlights are done with a white colored pencil. The entire piece is only 2.5x3.5 inches in it's original size.

Very simply... A Rose. A rose upon whose velvety petals rests the morning dew.

Two more pieces in my "Alien Jellyfish" series. Above, is a piece featuring a Moon Jellyfish. In this piece I took the artistic liberty and made the creature look much more alien like by cropping the body and elongating the tentacles.
In the piece below is a Nettle Jellyfish. The liberties I took in this piece to make it appear alien like, was not with the jellyfish specifically, but more with the water around it and the "glow" emitting from the jellyfish. Anatomically the Nettle jellyfish looks exactly like a Nettle Jellyfish, but it looks as if it is radioactive and that the water in moves through turns ionized and emits an energy from each of the bubbles.
