Betta Fish, also know as Siamese Fighters are very territorial and live in murky tiny little mud holes in Thailand and India. Thus the murky water in my drawing. Although it is a common miss conception that Betta Fish only like small spaces, even researchers say that Betta Fish still need as much space in a tank as many other fresh water fish so they have room to grown and move about. I know this from my own Betta Fish. I have both a male and a female and we bought two separate tanks for them so they wouldn't mate and they LOVE swimming everywhere and playing games with their food and their bubbles. They even like watching us, as they are actually very curious creatures. Although they are very territorial against other Male Betta fish, sometimes even their own reflection if they live in an aquarium which also makes them very skittish. Like most male animals in the animal kingdom the male is the most colorful and the most vibrant to attract the female, which is the exact opposite of our Human society. The females need to be gorgeous and allure the male. But I guess we have different standards than most animals.
