My Deviant Art Group, is getting off to a decent start. I've got 17 members. Which isn't a lot, but it's something after 2 1/2 months of being in existence. I'm figuring out how everything works and the best ways to submit artists work and get artists interested in the group. I don't want to run any contests yet, not until I have at least 50 members, if not more. I think I'd prefer 100 members so at least I'd have a good percentage of people who'd be willing to participate.

The group itself is a dedication to anything that causes some sort of harm, whether is mental distress, nature related disaster, human made machines gone awry.... human destruction, spacial cataclysms... and of course  aliens! A lot more people make art about these things than we realize, and this group is a place to see it all come together. I always wanted to find a way to help promote artists and feature work. So if I can get things group up and running I think it could be a big hit!

This image was drawn for my friend Kimberly Kuba, another artist. Her work can be checked out at this page here: http://madameksquare.deviantart.com/ she did a series of images based on bubbles, and bubbles actually having an environment. I started talking to her when I was critiquing those pieces. Since that time we became friends. I decided to draw her an image of bubbles, but with my own spin on it and with the mediums I normally draw in. This was the turn out. The idea behind the image is that the colored bubbles are being forced from a volcanic fissure in the ocean... and their bright colors are a chemical reaction between the magma and the salt water.

A Whale Shark. This creature is very odd, it's technically a shark... but it acts more like a whale and eats like a whale. It's my fiance's favorites sea animal and he requested it drawn for him for his birthday. This piece was the final result!
